Viewpoint/lookout tower
The approximately 28 meter high Bismarck Tower on the Velbert Hordtberg offers a magnificent view of the region. Built by the Verkehrs- und Beautification Association Langenberg eV, it was inaugurated in April 1906. A quarry was specially opened on the Hordt for the construction and the tower was built with the association's own basalt stones. In plan, the tower has an area of 8 x 8 meters. Inside, 83 stone steps and 54 steps of an iron spiral staircase lead up to the round plateau.
A restaurant was added and is still used today, where visitors can refresh themselves after climbing the Tum. Since 2009 there has also been a forest climbing park and a mini golf course on the Hordtberg, which, in addition to the Biamarck Tower, are attractive destinations for families and those who like to be active.
