Connection to Data Hub NRW and latest TYPO3 version

neanderland n-discover: tourism region with a new website

NEANDERLAND/METTMANN DISTRICT. Active tourism, action and excavation finds: The diverse, green excursion region neanderland - located between Düsseldorf, Cologne and the Ruhr area - has a new website. Due to the high focus on visual language, the easy use on mobile devices and the clear topic structuring, neanderland tourism draws users even more purposefully to its main points of hiking, cycling and family.

The greatest feature of the new website is an efficient and highly compatible connection to the tourism database system of the tourism umbrella organization of North Rhine-Westphalia.

In the Data Hub NRW, high-quality and openly licensed tourist data from all over North Rhine-Westphalia is stored according to the "Open Data" principle. For example, opening hours, addresses of restaurants, hiking and biking trails and photos of sights. This data can be exchanged in the system via various interfaces.

"This gives us the opportunity to maintain all of our tourism-relevant data sets in one place," explains Julia Pölcher, coordinator of destination marketing at neanderland Tourismus. "We work with the same standard as the data hub and can guarantee a cross-system exchange of all data. This in turn makes it easy to play out information via a variety of channels. And one of them is now our website.” The provision of reliable data enables guests to plan their visit to neanderland in the best possible way with the most up-to-date information.

The content management system with the latest TYPO3 version also ensures ideal guest addressing on the website. “Through the use of current web technologies such as responsive web design and the pursuit of a mobile-first strategy, our offer can be reached quickly and easily by potential visitors anytime, anywhere. Regardless of the end device used,” adds Julia Pölcher.

To market the new website and the region, neanderland tourism has come up with a virtual scavenger hunt where you can win special experiences in neanderland. All information about the competition is below www.neanderland.de/gewinnspiel a DAK Bungalow.
