NEANDERLAND/METTMANN CIRCLE. Changeable spring and haven't done a proper bike ride yet? Then the summer festival on the PanoramaRadweg Niederbergbahn on Sunday, June 16th, from 11 a.m. until late afternoon offers a good opportunity to get your bike fit and officially ring in the season. The festival takes place decentrally at four locations along the 40 kilometer long cycle path. The neighboring towns of Heiligenhaus, Velbert, Wülfrath and Haan are also taking part. There are lots of hands-on activities for children, workshops, live music and mountain enjoyment - it's worth cycling.

“After warm and wet days have often alternated in spring, many cyclists are still waiting for the real cycling season to begin,” explains Paula Lange from tourism marketing neanderland. “We are therefore happy when outdoor fans use our summer festival as an opportunity to get their bikes out of the garage and come out together to the Niederbergbahn panoramic cycle path.”

As in previous years, there are again the popular guided bike tours from the General German Bicycle Club. Regardless of whether you already know the region or are traveling along the route for the first time, local guides provide interesting insights into the route sections and sights.
In Heiligenhaus, cyclists can expect a coding campaign against theft at the Old Train Station, an upcycling workshop with bicycle tubes and a bicycle concert with the FILUM ensemble to cycle along. Café Hubo is on site with a coffee bike.

In Velbert-Tönisheide at the ALDI parking lot, those interested will find numerous stands from local players in the areas of cycling, fitness and club life. From beer carts to bouncy castles and face painting to a stage program, there is something for everyone throughout the day.

The festival takes place at the time tunnel in Wülfrath. Families in particular get their money's worth here with crafts with children, a test station for youth bikes, balloon figures, a hands-on activity by the volunteer fire department and a cake buffet. If you like, you can try out the rickshaw and cargo bike or try out the Segway course - in the afternoon even accompanied by French musette sounds.

A guided bike tour by the ADFC Haan local group begins at the town hall in Haan at 11 a.m. over large parts of the Panorama Cycle Path with a visit to the festivals in the other cities. At the same time, a hike for adults starts at pit 7 (Diepenbeek hiking car park), where you hike in silence and mindfulness and seek peace in nature.
