The discovery loop "Protestants and Franciscans" combines imposing buildings with a decelerated experience of nature. Experience the extraordinary church history of Velbert-Neviges, hike through the beautiful, natural landscape around it and discover the old town of Neviges with its small, winding streets and romantic flair.

The townscape of the district of Neviges is characterized by the monumental cathedral "Maria, Queen of Peace". The cathedral was built in a predominantly evangelical environment. Even today, 2/3 of the population of Neviges are evangelical.

The place of pilgrimage Neviges looks back on more than 330 years of history. Since October 22, 1681, people have been making pilgrimages to the miraculous image of the "Immaculate Conception".

The discovery loop takes you along the paths of the Protestants and Franciscans through the old town of Neviges. Hike along natural paths, experience breathtaking views of nearby Langenberg with its transmitters and discover milestones in Velbert's history along the way.
