Monheim am Rhein to Langenfeld-Reusrath
In Monheim am Rhein, we first walk east through Monheim's Bayer country: the chemical plant's plant protection center is in sight and the fields we walk through are like Bayer's experimental fields.
We later pass a stately building, Schloss Laach, built in 1911 in the Dutch Baroque style. Then we walk past the "Blue Danube" quarry pond and the Hitdorfer See, in the latter we can refresh ourselves or clean ourselves as needed.
The neanderland STEIG leads us further along the Stöckenbergsee, through the village of Rheindorf and finally into the Wupper-Auen. We cross the Wupper twice and walk along it, then turn northwards until we reach our stage destination in Langenfeld-Reusrath.
