Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to www.neanderland.de

The claim of neanderland is to make its websites barrier-free and usable for many (especially mobile) devices. We are guided by the requirements of the BITV (barrier-free information technology regulation) and the WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative). The website is continuously being improved and additional components that make it easier to use are being added.

Creation of this accessibility statement

The assessment is based on self-assessment.

Language
We try to keep our articles simple so that people who are unfamiliar with the subject can understand them. Please write to us if, in your opinion, facts are presented in an unnecessarily complicated manner.

Adaptable design
We have implemented this website in "responsive web design". This means that the layout of the website automatically adapts to the screen of the end device used (PC, notebook, tablet or smartphone) and a simplified layout appears on smaller screens. Zooming in on content in the browser not only enlarges the text, but also results in a single-column view that doesn't require horizontal scrolling.

System and technical requirements
This website is based on HTML5 and CSS3. A current web browser with CSS support is required for the full display of the pages. For optimal reproduction of the images and the color effects used, the color display of your system should be at least 65.000 colors (16 bit).

The website can also be used to a large extent without JavaScript. However, we recommend activating JavaScript in the web browser in order to be able to use all additional functions.

Some information and many forms in our offer are available in "Portable Document Format (PDF)". You need a PDF reader to view them.

Note: If you work with a screen reader, we recommend that you visit our website with the Chrome browser, as not all reading functions are supported by Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer.

The pages have a uniform structure and are divided into the following areas:

  • Meta navigation at the top of the screen, fixed
  • Topic tab in the header, fixed
  • Horizontal main navigation in the header (navigation of the respective subject area)
  • "Breadcrumb navigation" below the main navigation (topic tab) as a guide, fixed
  • Content area in the middle of the screen
  • Jump marks in the footer allow you to jump to the top of the page (up) or to the previous page (back).
  • General contact and service information at the bottom of the screen

Links
Internal and external links are underlined in blue. Additional information is displayed as soon as the mouse hovers over the link. Additional functions may have to be activated in order to receive this information.

Operation with the keyboard
The tab key enables navigation without a mouse. The controlled link is marked and activated by pressing the Enter key.

enlargement of the font
The displayed font size can be changed as follows:

  • in Internet Explorer via: Menu "View" → "Text size" the desired size or by pressing the key combination "CTRL" and "+" or "CTRL" and "-" (for Windows). The key combination "CTRL" and "0" restores the original state.
  • in Mozilla/Firefox and Netscape via: Menu "View" → "Text zoom" the desired percentage or with the keyboard by pressing the key combination "CTRL" and "+" or "CTRL" and "-" (for Windows). The key combination "CTRL" and "0" restores the original state.

In addition, contrast and font colors can be individually adjusted in each browser via the Internet options.

Non-accessible content

Reading function
A separate reading function is not offered. However, the pages are optimized in such a way that they can be read by standard screen readers such as "Jaws".

PDF and Word files/forms
Not all PDF and Word files are accessible. New files should be created in a barrier-free version and older ones should be replaced by such.

Videos
Not all videos have subtitles. Old files are not subtitled, but newly uploaded videos are uploaded with subtitles.

audio files
Not all audio files have audio descriptions. Old audio files are not provided with audio descriptions.

Individual Content Pages
The website of neanderland has not yet been completely revised and made barrier-free. It is possible that one or the other page was not designed to be barrier-free enough. If you notice such a page, we would be pleased if you contact us.

archive pages
On www.neanderland.de information that is no longer current, for example from past events, is collected under so-called "archive pages". In some cases, these pages are not completely barrier-free.
