In the 160 meter long access tunnel, 400 million years of geological history and the history of the lime industry in Wülfrath can be experienced with all your senses.
The Wülfrath time tunnel was created in the old mining tunnel of the Bochumer Bruch limestone quarry. Visitors discover the experience-oriented exhibition in an extraordinary atmosphere. In the form of hands-on stations and film excerpts, the different geological periods are illustrated with their unique characteristics and creatures - from the shifting of the continents to the dinosaurs to the first humans. Many fossils and objects from these times can even be admired live and in color. In addition to the history of the earth, the comparatively short period of industrial history of limestone mining in Wülfrath can also be experienced. The Schlupkothen quarry can also be circumnavigated with spectacular views on the natural history and industrial history nature trail.
