Upper Silesia is home to the second largest coal and steel industry region in Europe after the Ruhr area. The special exhibition Silver Fever. The Tarnowitz Mining - the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Upper Silesia shows the history of mining in Tarnowitz/Tarnowskie Góry - from its emergence from 1490 through the decline to its inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2017. The aim of the exhibition is to convey European industrial culture Changes over time and especially in the German-Polish context. Curator: Mariusz Gąsior The special exhibition was created in collaboration with the Association of Homeland Friends of the Tarnowitz Region (Stowarzyszenie Miłośników Ziemi Tarnogórskiej), the sponsoring association of the only UNESCO World Heritage site in Upper Silesia. Funded by the Cultural Foundation of the States and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
