Since spring 2019, the city of Monheim am Rhein can also be explored in a maritime atmosphere: On board the Baumberger eel choker "Fiat Voluntas", curious visitors can expect an interactive and multimedia exhibition that provides insights into the history of earlier eel fishing in Monheim am Rhein - a once important one industry of the city. After extensive restoration work, the listed exhibition ship is now ready for young and old to explore. In addition to numerous original exhibits, visitors can expect a very special, digital highlight: a talking book and a talking pot tell exciting stories about everyday life on an eel fishing boat and give insights into the life of the people in Monheim am Rhein at that time.

Arrival & Parking
By car on the A59, take exit 24 Richrath and drive in the direction of Monheim. Follow Berghauser Straße to the second roundabout. Take the first exit and after about 500 meters turn left into Wannesstraße. At the end, turn left and follow the road to the Aalschokker car park.
