Biological station in the Bürgel building

Historical site

Bürgeler fruit brandies, naturally cloudy apple juice and blossom honey

Haus Bürgel is located in the Urdenbacher Kämpe, one of the last non-dyked floodplain landscapes with a high diversity of rare animals and plants. Pollard willows, rows of poplars, hedges and extensive orchards with a variety of old fruit varieties structure this landscape.. The naturally cloudy Bürgeler juice is pressed on site from various old apple varieties from the orchards. In addition, apples and pears are distilled and bottled in a contract distillery to produce fruit brandies.

From the various old apple varieties from the meadow orchards near Haus Bürgel, we press the naturally cloudy Bürgel juice directly on site and fill it into boxes without additives. The different apple varieties give each box a unique taste.

We also have the pears and apples distilled and bottled into our Bürgeler fruit brandies in a contract distillery in the southern Rhineland. The proceeds from the fruit brandy go to the replanting and pruning of the fruit trees.
