Historical city center

The historic center of the district town forms the upper town with the old Lambertus Church. The idyllic town center is characterized by Bergisch half-timbered houses, modern architecture and traditional handicrafts. The world-famous, prehistoric Neanderthal Museum is dedicated to four million years of human history and is also located in Mettmann. The Neanderthal skeleton was found in the heart of the Neanderland region.
