Stadtmuseum Langenfeld and Schalenschneider-Kotten

museum/exhibition
The permanent exhibition on the history of the city in Langenfeld presents itself with modern audiovisual and interactive elements.
The focus is on the prehistory and early history of the city up to the present. Regularly changing art and cultural-historical special exhibitions and guided tours complement the program. The modern depot next to the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Haus houses a replica of a stagecoach from 1816 that ran on the Düsseldorf - Langenfeld - Cologne route.

In addition, the Stadtmuseum Langenfeld shows changing exhibitions on art and cultural history.

Arrival & Parking

City Museum:
Coming from the A 59 (Düsseldorf-Süd - Leverkusen):
At the Monheim / Langenfeld exit, follow the signs to Langenfeld. At the next crossing, cross Düsseldorfer Straße (B 8) straight ahead until you come to a "T-junction" on the main street. Turn right. The next street on the left is Freiherr-vom-Stein-Straße. On the corner is the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Haus (Hauptstrasse 83). There is a paid parking lot next to the building.

Coming from the A3 (Oberhausen - Frankfurt):
At the Solingen / Langenfeld exit, follow the signs to Langenfeld. You drive straight ahead, initially on Hardt, which later becomes Solinger and then Theodor-Heuss-Straße. You drive through a railway underpass, leave the town hall on the left and finally come to a "T-junction" on Düsseldorfer Straße (B 8). There you turn left. At the 2nd major crossing, at Berliner Platz (on the left is ALDI-Süd), turn left into Hauptstrasse. The second street on the right is Freiherr-vom-Stein-Straße. The Freiherr vom Stein house is on this corner.

With public transport:
Take the S-Bahn line S 6 to the “Langenfeld Rheinland” stop (not “Langenfeld-Berghausen”!). From there take bus number 785 (direction Düsseldorf Jan-Wellem-Platz) to the “Freiherr-vom-Stein-Straße” stop (directly in front of the building).
