Easy stage with a few moderate climbs. On both sides of the Schwarzbach, it repeatedly leads over heights and opens up great far-reaching views. Riding stables, farm cafés and a mill line the path.
The local recreation area Grüner See with fitness trail and water sports facilities is the starting point of this section of the trail. The Schwarzbach is our companion, and it will stay that way until the end of the stage.
We hike on the southern edge of Ratingen and can enjoy views of the Ruhr area from the heights. It goes past riding stables, farmer's cafes, even a beauty mill. But we keep coming back to the Schwarzbach valley, crossing under the A3 with this brook full of fish at our side and finally reaching Homberg. The end of this stage with numerous rustic rest stops awaits us at the Grevenmühle Golf Club.
