Very varied, moderately difficult stage with few noticeable climbs. Wide fields, narrow and romantic brook valleys and wild forests characterize this eventful route
After starting at the Grevenmühle golf course, the route continues along the Schwarzbach for a short while, but then southwards in the direction of Erkrath. Exhilarated we hike through the gently rolling landscape. Crossing the small ghost forest is like a test of courage and then we go briefly to the Mettmann district of Metzkausen. From there we continue past the golf course until we walk through the varied Stindertal with a mill, meadow landscape and the famous "Maria im Tal".
In Erkrath it goes in a large loop through the forests and meadows of Gut Jägerhof and Gut Papendelle, finally through the park of Haus Morp, which was laid out around 1900 as an English landscape garden. The stage ends behind the park of the former manor, not far from Erkrath S-Bahn station.
The section from Homberg to Erkrath is one of the longer sections of the neanderland STEIG, but still very pleasant to walk.
